Costa Mesa-based nonprofit selected by Chance Theater, Anaheim’s official resident theater company, to be a community partner for “Gloria”

Chance Theater - Gloria runs until October 20th! Nonprofit Project Independence (PI) has been selected by Chance Theater, Anaheim’s official resident theater company, to be a community partner for the theater’s production of the play “Gloria” at the Bette Aitken Theater Arts Center on the Cripe Stage, running through October 28.

The play’s audience and cast will have an opportunity to learn more about PI at an empowerment community night on Friday, Oct. 11. The social event begins at 7 PM in the Chance lobby, with the performance at 8 PM, followed by a post-show conversation starting at 9:45 PM.

The organization will receive 30 percent of ticket sales through the run of the show when buyers use code RF4CT at chancetheater.com/tiny. A display of PI information will also be in the lobby.

“We are honored to be a community partner with the theater,” said PI CEO Bob Watson. “As an organization that supports adults with developmental disabilities who sometime face prejudices, we believe in live theater’s power to increase empathy and help us engage emotionally at a deeper level with others.”

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, PI provides comprehensive services in Orange County to over 400 people with developmental disabilities in their homes, at work, and in the community.
