On Site Support Services
Vista del Rio
Vista Del Rio is a 41-unit development project that provides developmentally and physically disabled adults including some from Project Independence, with high quality affordable housing with modern amenities and on-site services. Since opening in 2012, much has been accomplished at Vista del Rio. Located at 1600 West Memory Lane, Santa Ana, the property is south of the Outlets of Orange (formerly The Block) and overlooks the Santa Ana River- right on the golf course.
Project Independence was invited to participate as a service provider at this project because of our more than 45 years of exemplary work providing Independent Living, Day and Behavioral Supports and Supported Employment to the Orange County community.
Â
Project Independence provides on-site services for tenants including social service programs designed to increase or maintain the independence of those with disabilities. Training programs focus on independent/support living training, vocational services and healthy living.
Meals on Wheels
Project Independence proudly partners with Meals on Wheels Orange County. Like so many of us, our clients love to celebrate the empowerment of their independence by giving back. Staff and clients of Project Independence come together as a team to deliver daily meals to those who might not be so mobile.
The smiling faces and helpful hands that accompany each delivery go a long way letting those confined to their homes know that they are not forgotten. A community can only be strong when those who needs us most are supported and compassionately connected to the rest of us.
