Orange County Rally to Save Medicaid!
Right now, there’s a lot of talk in Congress about cutting Medicaid (which is called MediCal in California) —and that could hit people with developmental disabilities especially hard.
If Medicaid gets cut, people with developmental disabilities could lose access to the healthcare they depend on every single day. We’re talking about things like doctor visits, medications, therapy, and even basic preventive care. Without Medicaid, many people simply wouldn’t be able to afford the care they need to stay healthy and live as independently as possible.
The stakes are high. Medicaid provides healthcare for nearly 15 million people in California and more than 40% of the state’s children. These are real lives, not just budget lines, and we need to speak up before essential services disappear.
OC Action, in partnership with the Fight for Our Health Coalition and other disability rights organizations, is mobilizing for a rally in front of Rep. Young Kim’s field office on April 22 in order to protect Medi-Cal and other social programs from devastating cuts, which will affect the most vulnerable members of our community. This rally will highlight and center their voices. Come join us!
