Sharie is an Area Manager at Project Independence (PI). She came to PI in December of 2016.
Why did you join PI?
I was at crossroads in my career path, deciding whether to go back to my passion or continue working without a cause. Helping and working with people with disabilities is my passion, and that is what I chose.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I love to get together with my friends, family, and pets. My house is the place where parties, barbecues, and hangouts happen. Cooking, kayaking, traveling, and concerts are also on my list for fun.
What drives you / motivates you to help others?
I discovered that helping people was my passion in my early 20s. What motivates me is when I learn about success stories.
What’s your favorite thing about working at PI?
My favorite thing about working at PI is the diversity of our clients and our team. Not to mention every day is different.
What are your favorite client successes?
My favorite successes are usually ones with many obstacles but with persistence and teamwork, we as a team meet goals.
What tips would you give to other people looking to work in your field?
My tip would be that lessons come from unexpected people and places.
