This month, we’re thrilled to celebrate Cristina and her 25 years with Project Independence! Since joining in 2000, Cristina has brought energy, dedication, and a joyful presence to every space she’s a part of. Cristina began her journey by exploring vocational paths, developing her skills, and discovering where she felt most confident and fulfilled.
In November 2004, she was hired as a Mail Attendant for Irvine City Hall, a role she continues to thrive in today. Cristina shows up to work every day with a positive attitude and an infectious smile. Her strong working relationship with her job coach of over 15 years, Sulema Herrera, and the mutual respect she shares with her peers are a testament to her character and commitment.

Known for her respectful nature and thoughtful presence, Cristina also enjoys expressing herself through personal style. She loves getting her hair and nails done and says, “I work hard, and I deserve to pamper myself!” Cristina’s passions outside work include singing and dancing, activities that reflect her vibrant spirit.
We’re honored to celebrate this milestone with Cristina and look forward to the many wonderful moments still to come. Thank you, Cristina, for 25 incredible years of connection, contribution, and joy!
