Annual event held by local nonprofit to help launch National Disability Employment Awareness Month comes to TeWinkle Park in Costa Mesa
Nonprofit Project Independence (PI) of Costa Mesa invites champions for the rights of people with developmental disabilities to walk, jog, or roll at its 15th Annual Walk for Independence & Health Fair, set for Saturday, October 11, 2025 at TeWinkle Park at 970 Arlington Drive in Costa Mesa to help launch National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

This year, the event features a focus on health, a pet-friendly atmosphere, prizes, and more – all designed to draws individuals, families, and corporate teams together for a cause rooted in empowerment, inclusion, and well-being.
Funds raised from the walk will help fund the organization’s Independent Living, Supported Employment, and Day Program services that support hundreds of adults. More than 200 people are anticipated to participate the event that annually raises more than $50,000. This year’s Walk for Independence Grand Marshall is longtime PI client Brad Ball.
