Nonprofit Project Independence (PI) of Costa Mesa was honored by the County of Orange for its 15th Annual Walk for Independence & Health Fair, held October 11at TeWinkle Park to help launch National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
Presented by Robbie LaBounty, District Representative, Office of Supervisor Katrina Foley, 5th District, the certificate says: “On behalf of the County of Orange, with honor, I award this certificate of recognition to Project Independence in celebration of your 15th annual Walk for Independence in Costa Mesa. I applaud your dedication to serving our special needs community by providing services to help them become and remain independent. Thank you for your continued service to helping the residents of Southern California.”
Funds raised from the walk support the organization’s Independent Living, Supported Employment, and Day Program services that assist hundreds of adults with developmental disabilities.
