Project Independence serves individual in the majority of Orange County.
What is the cost for services?
Costs are paid through the Department of Developmental Services. Programs become vendors through the Regional Center of Orange County which disperses the funds from DDS.

Regional Center of Orange County refers individuals to our various programs.
What type of programs are offered at PI?
Project Independence offers a Community Day Program, Monday through Friday, 6 hours per day. We also have a Supported Employment program which provides support for individuals at their place of employment. Our Independent Living program supports an individual with their daily life skills while our Supported Living program provides supports for individuals with more significant challenges.
Community Support Specialist & Personal Care Attendant
Our Independent Living Program is looking for Community Support Specialists (CSS) and Personal Care Attendants (PCA). A CSS teaches daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, medical appointment and all those other things you need to do daily when you live in your own apartment. Our Day Program is looking for Program Specialists. This position supports clients out in the community providing meaningful activities at volunteer sites, paid sites, and other community activities.
Supported Employment Job Coach
Our Supported Employment Program is looking for Job Coaches to provide job skills training to our clients at the places they have been hired to work. Communicating with supervisors and co-workers to ensure that the clients is successful at their job.
